Lokaltrafikant is a Swedish based photo project that takes a closer look at the local Swedish commuter. I’ve been following this blog ever since I met Christoffer Skogsmo last year in Sweden. It’s great. I always find my selve shocked on how well the crew (also shooting is Jon Mogard) can capture a dull moment with such an eye and sly iPhone… yes, iPhone.

Check out the interview with Skogsmo and more photos after the jump!

Name, location and occupation?
Christoffer Skogsmo, Stockholm, Sweden, Art Director at Personerna (The Persons)

How long have you been posting on “Lokaltrafikant” and what does it mean to you?
Me and Jon Mogard began taking pictures of people as a pastime activity on the subway some year ago. But the site lokaltrafikant.se (the commuter) started in May 2011. 9 months later we have now about 600 photos of different people in transit.

What equipment do you use?
Only the iPhone

Swedes are pretty shy, have you had any trouble “stealing souls” in public?
Shy people are great when it comes to this sport. And we are shy over here. So shy that one time when I was gonna take a picture of a girl opposite me, I had forgot not only to turn the shutter sound off, but the flash as well. And because it’s very silent on Swedish subways everybody both heard and saw me taking that picture. But nobody reacted. Swedes…

Any favorite moments of public travel?
My favorite moments of public travelling must be when you get on and you sit down opposite a good looking girl. Then this funny thing starts to happen with your eyes. You stare, and look away. Stare, and look away. Stare, stare, stare. And look away. Drives me insane. And this goes on forever until she get off, cos I won’t.

When are you going to come and shoot in NYC? You might get punched… trust me.
I think the NYC tour is set for this spring. And if I get punched I’m gonna take a picture of it as it happens. Awesome!

Any last words?
Can I stay at your place?

Ha, yup!

Check out the rest at Lokaltrafikant and you can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
